International Healtcare Ministries (IHM)are the ABWE ministries reaching out to those who hurt in body and soul through compassionate healthcare ministries in many different parts of the world.

Often referred to as medical missions in the past, ABWE is looking to the future as we seek to improve our existing medical ministries and to launch new ministries focused on evangelism through medical and surgical treatment and health promotion in various regions of the world. The vision of the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism (ABWE) is to carry out world evangelism resulting in national church-planting movements and multiplying missions movements.

The world is filled with hurting people: those who are sick in body, in mind, in spirit, or in all of these. Healthcare professionals who desire to use their skills in a biblically centered, culturally sensitive outreach will find many opportunities with ABWE. If you desire to become involved in healthcare ministry, you will find that through it come opportunities to meaningfully express God’s love, way of salvation, and hope for eternal life. You can become involved through long-term career missions, shorter-term assistant missionary work, or short-term team trips. You can exercise your skills through different kinds of ministry, such as itinerant clinics, hospitals, pregnancy crisis centers, aid for the disabled, church-centered community healthcare projects, orphanages, AIDS ministry outreach, or partnering with national churches and pastors in thier healthcare projects.
